History

1954	the company is founded in Gondershausen. It produces leather and lambskin ladies' wear and menswear.

1982	a ready-to-wear clothing factory goes into operation in Montevideo, Uruguay

1987	the firm sets up its own tannery in San Jose, Uruguay

1994	the "medically tanned lambskins" range is launched

1997	CHRIST is awarded the seal of approval by the testing and research institute in Reutlingen, certifying that all the CHRIST medically tanned lambskins are manufactured in accordance with environmentally compatible methods and have been tested for harmful substances

2002	certification in accordance with the "Öko-Tex Standard 100" awarded by the Hohenstein research institute
